Microgeneration Certification Scheme

MCS - Microgeneration Certification Scheme

Mainline Energy Solutions is signed up to the Microgeneration Certification Scheme. This confirms our commitment to the highest standards of product supply and installation.

The MCS is an internationally recognised quality assurance scheme. It was designed with input from installer and product representatives. Similar to the Gas Safe Register, the MCS gives installers a mark of competency and demonstrates to consumers that the supplier can install to the highest quality every time.

In this rapidly growing industry, installers and products that carry the MCS Mark are seen as the preferred option in the market place. This is because MCS is linked to many key factors such as:

  • Feed-In Tariffs, which will provide guaranteed payments to individuals, business and communities for small-scale electricity generation.

  • The Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) for Energy Rating of Dwellings recognises MCS certificated products when determining whether products are eligible for inclusion in SAP assessments.

  • The Code for Sustainable Homes, which is a mandatory requirement for all new build homes to meet sustainability ratings, including ratings for energy and CO2 emissions. MCS certificated technologies can be used to meet the requirements of this Code.

  • Planning permission for consumers for certain renewable energy technologies has now been made a lot simpler thanks to permitted development rights introduced in England and Scotland.

Renewable Energy Assurance Limited

REAL - Renewable Energy Assurance Limited

Only responsible companies display the REALity Check.

In order to have full confidence in companies who sell renewable or low carbon micro heat or power units the REAL Code was established. It was recognised that most people are unlikely to be experts in these technologies and will need help in working out which is the most suitable system and how to get the best from it.

The REAL Assurance Scheme Consumer Code sets out clearly what you are entitled to expect from a responsible company that you can have confidence in. The Code covers pre-sales activity, contracts, completing the order and after-sales activities.

Fronius Service Partner
